COUNSEL/SR. COUNSEL ATTORNEY

HEALTH - FOOD LAW

Location: Washington, DC

Our client, an international Amlaw 50 firm with a nationally recognized Health Care & Life Sciences practice , is seeking an experienced attorney to join its Washington, D.C. office as Counsel or Senior Counsel . This role offers a unique opportunity to work on sophisticated transactions and regulatory matters at the intersection of food law, life sciences, and healthcare.

Candidate Profile

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
• Active Bar Admission in the District of Columbia , in good standing
• 6+ years of substantive experience in food law , including regulatory and transactional matters
• Prior experience working at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
• Familiarity with U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) requirements is highly valued
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks impacting food safety and labeling
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across practice areas
• Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, communication, and negotiation skills are essential, as well as the ability to handle complex legal matters in a fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities

• Advise healthcare and life sciences clients on regulatory compliance , including product labeling, safety, and marketing regulations
• Represent clients in enforcement actions and regulatory matters before the FDA , USDA , and other government agencies
• Provide strategic guidance on risk management , compliance programs , and internal investigations
• Counsel clients on transactions , diligence , and strategic considerations involving food and medical products
• Stay ahead of regulatory developments affecting the food and beverage sector and counsel clients on emerging risks and opportunities
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to address legal challenges at the intersection of food law, public policy, and litigation

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $390,000+ annually, as determined by experience and market factors.
