Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure Architect (Azure IaC Terraform)
Primary Location: Remote USA or if possible some Hybrid in Rosemont IL
Position Type: Contract with possible convert to hire.

Overview
TalentFish is casting a line for a Cloud Infrastructure Architect. This is a remote Contract role or hybrid in Rosemont Illinois. In this engagement, you will act as the Cloud Infrastructure Architect for our client who is developing an innovative platform.

Qualified candidates will have demonstrated Cloud Infrastructure Architecture experience and solid communication skills. You will work with the client team providing recommendations and helping with best practices for designing and implementing the new Cloud Platform Architecture. Experience with Azure, AWS, Google Could Platform. Experience with Azure, IaC and Terraform is required for this role.



What You Bring to the Role.

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Professional certifications in Cloud architecture and Engineering (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a cloud architecture role with a proven track record of successful cloud implementations AND able and willing to code with Infrastructure as code (IaC) tools Terraform experience is required for this role.
• Deep understanding and experience with Cloud and Hybrid network architecture and design.
• Deep understanding and experience with IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and other cloud services models.
• Experience with Container platforms and tools and managing - Kubernetes/CaaS clusters
• Strong knowledge of cloud security protocols and best practices.
• Proficient in designing disaster recovery strategies.

• Lead the design, implementation, and continual optimization of cloud platform infrastructure.
• Architect and participate in building and maintaining highly available, secure, efficient, and scalable cloud infrastructures.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and best practices to continuously improve cloud infrastructure and operations.
• Influence the adoption of cloud services, providing expert guidance on cloud-native and cloud-first strategies.
• Lead the design and participate in the implementation of highly resilient, efficient and secure cloud and hybrid network architectures.
• Optimize cloud-based systems focusing on high availability, performance, scalability, security, and disaster recovery.
• Evaluate existing cloud infrastructures and work with technical teams to re-architect or improve them for better performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
• Work with platform engineers to troubleshoot and rectify performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and other operational challenges within the cloud environment.
• Drive a continuous innovation mindset, staying updated with the latest cloud technologies and trends, and integrating them into the infrastructure where appropriate.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product teams, Developers and Platform Engineers, to understand business and development requirements and work to architect modern, scalable cloud solutions that support both existing and future business applications.
• Work with development platform engineers to develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform.
• Collaborate with IT Security teams to review and update security policies and controls as well as develop and maintain incident response plans.
• Share successful strategies and insights gained with relevant teams to bolster our capability to evolve and adjust to dynamic requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members and stakeholders.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of the company's cloud architecture and procedures.
• Provide training and technical leadership to in-house teams, fostering a cloud-centric culture.
• Work with external partners and vendors to develop and optimize cloud solutions.

The expected hourly rate for this position is $65 - $90 per hour W2, depending on experience and qualifications.
